My young bloke Hayden has found an older CD of mine called: "It still Ain't Easy", by Long John Baldry, and wants to have a go at a few of the numbers.
Long John Baldry was a Brit blues singer, died in Canada in his early 60's, about 4-5 yrs back.
Lot about him on the net.
Hayden has Guitar Pro 5 and there is next to nothing on that from this singer.
We have scoured the net with no sucess.
Have asked at 2 big music stores for sheet music or music books....no luck.

Does anyone here have lyrics...sheet music....music book....know of any in existance for this singer.

Cheers

Hello down there,re re,

Phil, I quickly searched for the stuff you asked about, but could only come up with a few places that have him on disk.
Try them though and you may get lucky and score some sheet stuff.

Itunes music Store,

Tower records,

Overstock.com,

And last but hopefully not least,

Amazon.ca/music.

I will put some feelers out to a few buddies and hopefully we'll get some results.

Cheers,

PH.

Hey Phil and Hayden,

They have all of his music on Rhapsody, which I subscribe to . . . If you gave me a song or two to start with I could probably figure it/them out.

Re: Long John Baldry

Hey Phil,
Haven't heard, or have too much of Long John in my music, but have a ton of Elton, who played with him in Bluesology, as you probably know. Eltons early stuff was a little off mainstream, but was his absolute best. In interviews, he counts Long John as almost, if not, a mentor. Most of my early Elton stuff(albums) have all the liner notes. Not Blues, but the Captain Fantastic and Madman Across The Water are really good. Whenever I play his stuff, I always think of his thought of Long John. Hope you have lots of luck finding the music you're looking for, for your boy! Sorry for the side track of the post. My woman is pretty good at finding stuff on the computer, I'll have her do a search to see what she can find.

Its a start, and it has the notes as well as the lyrics. The rest are out there,

QC.
Below is the list he likes.
I don't want to put people to the trouble of figuring it out QC, if the music and lyrics are available to purchase.

As Kerry said, he was a big item in the industry.....not only did he have a close assn with Elton John, also Rod Stewart, the drummer out of the R. Stones, and so the list goes on.
He didn't just associate with them on a pro level, I understand they had been friends etc before their careers got going.
He has put out and written a lot of music so it has to be somewhere for sale.

This is the Playlist of his CD called "It Still Ain't Easy"

It still ain't easy (don't confuse with 'It ain't easy' ...an earlier version)
Midnight in New Orleans
One Step Ahead
I never loved Nobody
Get it while the Gettin's
What've I been drinking
Insane Asylum
You Wanna Dance
Shake that thing
Like You promised
Busker
Can't Keep from Crying
No More
Soft and Fury

QC. Haydens interest at the moment is a little strange.
We had a discussion about musicians being artists and what that meant, and how some writers/painters/singers often led or expressed discent or concern in society thru their work.
Well he found the Eagles 'Hole in the World Tonight', and Credence/John Fogarty 'deja vu (all over again)', and for a 14yr old, he does them very well. I think that is why he is searching for similar style (not topic) type songs, which has led him to Long John.

Cheers
Phillip
