Location of Serial Number???

I have an old Mercury 650 Thunderbolt 4-stroke. I was wondering if anyone knows where ther serial number is located? I have looked everywhere and can't find it. Thanks, Jeff D

look for a metal plate on the front below the<br />motor cover (right where it clamps on the transom)
