Location of HIN on 1959 Sylvan

I hope someone can help me with this question....

I purchased a 1959 Sylvan pontoon boat years ago and since have moved it to another state. This state is requiring an inspection to verify the HIN on the title to the actual watercraft. I cannot find the HIN anywhere on this pontoon boat. I checked the internet and on pontoon boats it states the HIN should be located "On the aft crossbeam within one foot of the starboard hull attachment" but I still can"t find it there....so I must ask was that true in 1959??! Also, am I looking for a tag or is it imprinted into the structural metal?

I would appreciate any help in locating this HIN..

You might have to "polish the area to locate the imprinted information.

I swore I saw it before when I was going over the boat just a month ago but darned if I can find it anywhere now!
