Locating the sending unit for trim/tilt

I have a Mercruiser 4.3LX with a alpha out drive and I am wondering where the sending unit is located

they are mounted at 3+9 o'clock on the gimbal ring, i Think the port side is the sender,+ the starboard is the limit switch.....

golfer, the stbd side is trim position and the port is trim limit.
