Hi All,

Does anyone know of any machine shops located in the Passaic/Morris county area of New Jersey? Also, whats the ballpark range on the cost to rebore a 50hp outboard?

Why not ask your local marine dealer or repair shop. Gonna bet they have a pet shop that does their work for them and probably wouldn't mind telling you.

My experience with mechanics is that they are there to help you and if you only want the boring part then that's all you want.

Besides, you might buy the repair parts from them even if you want to do it yourself, or if you get in a rut you'll come to them to get out of it; they'll wind up getting the job anyway.

Try it.

never dawned on me to just walk in there asking for this kind of info. my past experiences with auto mechanics in general tends to drive me to avoiding them. Sad but true. there is a small shop though nearby. Maybe I'll ask them. Have any of you guys had a rebore? What did it cost?
