Loan refinancing mailing lists...? what a waste

About 3 years ago I got an FHA loan for my first house. It started with 1-2 letters asking to refinance my loan per month. Now I get about 20-25 letters per week asking to refinance my loan. What a waste of paper. I'm never going to do it. 2/3 at least are most likely scams anyways. Tried to find out how to get off their mailing list but I don't know how. Anyways, got 5 letters yesterday and 2 more today. Just seems like an incredibly large waste of paper and money. Anyone else dealing with something like this?

i get maybe 3/mo.

if you haven't refi'd in 3 years and plan to be in the house longer, you should check into it. rates are insanely low.

What makes me more angry is that first-class postage customers have to subsidize junk mail. If the junk mailers had to pay first-class postage, most would be eliminated.

my loan insurance is so low, and it's gone up since then so much, that if I refinanced, my monthly payment would be higher because of the increased cost of the insurance. At least that's what the last loan guy at my bank told me.

It is truly a huge waste of resources, time and money. I guess I don't pay much attention anymore since I have less than 6 years left till I burn the note. They go straight in the recycle.

I’m guessing you either live in a high foreclosure zip code, a high principal to value rate or your existing mortgage has a interest rate.

I used to get one or two a month when I had a 6.875% rate mortgage. Bought a new house last year at 3.75% and I've not gotten a single letter since

High foreclosure rate for sure. I could name 5-6 co-workers or friends that have walked away from houses or condo's in the last year. The house I live in now was a foreclosure. This family bought it 5 years ago for about $530,000 and I got it 3 years ago for $296,000. I'm at 5% even fixed for 30 years, but the papers I get are under talking about being under 4%. Maybe it is time to check again.

No harm in checking. I find that junk mail makes excellent fire starter at the campground. That's where any we have will be heading later today.

At todays rates 5% is well above average. I have a 30 years fixed at 3.75% with no points. I had the option of going down to 3.25% if I wanted to pay points

I get those junk mail things also, I am not bragging, BUT I don't have a mortgage and own the house outright. But there has to be some type a sucker list out there that banks and financial companies have tapped into.
