is it correct to drive your boat onto the trailer or should you be using the winch
most of the time i see people with thier props just about outta the water at full throttle trying to get it up there but they end up using the winch

and are you meant to drive it off the trailer i have seen some stupid stuff happen when people do this starting motors out of the water giving it a good hard rev when the tips of the prop just touching the water one time i thought this guy was gonna blow up his engines or should u reverse and slam on the brakes or reverse untill it floats off or try to push if off i seen people pushin thier boat off the trailer when it wasnt even in the water they hard a hard time

Sounds like the boaters in your area don't get deep enough to drive on or off, or else the ramps aren't steep enough. Drive-off (sometimes float-off) & drive-on the norm around here, but our props are fully submerged.

As tashasdaddy says, it all depends on the ramp. I'll say this, though: One of the ramps I use regularly has been ruined by people driving onto their trailers. It has a mud bottom past the concrete, and the constant powering onto trailers has thrown up mud bars right at the ends of the courtesy docks on both sides of this double ramp, making them unusable.

While I understand that it's easier to drive a boat onto the trailer, it sure makes life tough for other boaters.

my neighborhood ramp is so steep you have to power on and off. there's no need to floor it but i'd rip my bow eye out winching it in every time.
