If a tire is load range 700# does that mean you can load it with 1400#. My thought is a trailer has two tires at 700# = 1400# total? Is this faulty logic?

longshot

Nope, that is correct logic, Longshot, but:

The load rating is for the stated inflation pressure. Less pressure, less load.

Never load a tire all the way to its load rating. As you tow over uneven roads and hit dips, etc the actual (dynamic) load far exceeds the sitting (static) load.

JB is right on with thic one. Get you a tire load rated C and it will give you many miles of trouble free life.
