Little Oil Leaking

Long time stalker of the site and forums, first time poster.

We used a 1991 25 hp Johnson 2 Stroke Outboard quite a bit today at very low idle speeds. We got back to hotel and after sitting for several hours we see a very small amount of oil leaking out of a very small hole on the left side of the lower part of the motor. The hole is definitely supposed to be there, we just don't know if oil should be leaking out of it?

Any help would be much appreciated.

It's a drain hole for upper and intermediate housing from factory. What you are probably seeing is unburnt fuel/oil. Put a little of it on yer finger and smell it. But just for thought, you might want to pull lower drain plug in the lower unit and check for water. If that looks good, your ok to go!

Re: Little Oil Leaking

thanks Monte; I am almost certain it is unburnt fuel/oil. Has a strong gas smell to it.
