Im relatively new to going out on the river system we have here (BC Canada) and was wondering what is the best way to handle an encounter with some of the LARGE tugs that go up and down the river here(THEY DONT SEEM TO CARE IF US LITTLE GUYS ARE THERE  ) . Man them waves are HUGE. I know enough to head into the waves bow first , but how much should I decrease speed ? If I slow to much so that the boat stops planeing and the bow comes up , that wouldnt be good ???? Fast ( like I did today ) results is some fantastic (photo quality) air jumps  :(
Im just looking for some opinions from some of you who are experienced . My boat is a 15 ft. aluminum Princecraft / 30 HP O/B . About 800 LBS.

Thanks

Jeff

Howdy.

Your heirs would possibly win a suit. Do you care?

I would stay as far as possible away from those jerks.

Good luck. :)
