Liquid in VST float?

I know this sounds stupid, but should there be any liquid whatsoever in this float? Engine is a 1990 Merc 200hp efi xri

No, never
Doesn't matter if its in a carb or VST

Thank you! I didn't think so but Couldn't find any evidence of a hole in the float.
