I'm considering going to the liqua-lube bearings after my left trailer tire seized up and sent my tire off the trailer while driving.
If that's ever happened to anyone else - you know you'll do anything and everything in your power to make **** sure it will never happen again.
- any positive or negative info?

Full size trucks run front bearings in gear oil. I would just consider re-doing the bearings on both sides and using bearing buddies and grease. Everytime I go out I give my wheel bearings (and lower steering section of my outboard) a shot of grease.

Examine your axel stubs very carefully and replace them too if needed.

Bob

I agree with BOB_VT about doing both sides.
If one side went south on you on the highway, do both.
I purchased my boat and trailer late last July and considering the state of the bearings and seals when I did my spring inspection, I was lucky that I made the 500 km. tow home, not to mention the tows to launch / recover and home.
I spun the the drums after I pulled the wheels and could tell right away that I needed bearings and seals.
I followed directions and changed everything myself (wonderful job pressing out the 4 old races and installing new ones) and will be cleaning and repacking the bearings in the fall before storage. I have heard so much about bearing buddies and I will be investing in them when I can find them big enough for my hubs.
My drums are the big ones and the stores here carry the buddies for the 10 inch drums and smaller.
