Not near me one of my Co-workers mother has been evacuated, her house is right in the middle of the fire but word is the firefighters have been working solely on structure protection and that's why they have zero containment after the third day. I have heard that they will have over one thousand firefighters on the Lower North Fork Fire tomorrow which is the fire I'm sure your talking about rbh, 5000 acres so far but if the wind stays calm they will jump all over it, 23-25 structures confirmed burned so far. Hard to stay informed about it when were in the jail but we have been told to check the news and Sheriff's updates regularly since it is very close to our county line and we could be called in to help should things blow up, but for now everything looks pretty good.

The biggest concern for us is that this fire started about a mile from one of the key Communications sites for Douglas and Jefferson counties but the site is west of the fire and wind in Colorado almost never blows to the west so I think it is in little danger.

a pretty good resource if your interested,
http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/30784290/detail.html
Right now the resources at Fire Commands disposal are pretty incredible, I had heard that the 302nd ANG is retrofitting some of their C130 aircraft for fire drops (they are designed for this and have done this in the past) as it looks like a pretty good fire year unless we get some rain, right now this March is one of the drier March's on record but who knows what Mother Nature has in store for us, I'm beginning to think I may get my Wildland Cert's again, I know a couple team's that would like me to join up with but getting my wife on board may be an issue LOL.

The one thing the Site above does not list is Hands in Reserve, and now that we have out of state crews the local crews will be "set back" meaning they will be placed in reserve and back into their normal fire fighting operations, so if this fire kicks up again they will be ready but right now it looks to me like they are maintaining the fire instead of putting it out which I am a huge proponent of, may as well get rid of the fuel while they can but if it starts torching again I think they will be all over it.

Hey Lipp-
Its good to hear that your not in the path of it.
We have had "HUGE" forest fires up here over the last 15 years and have wiped out big portions of cities and towns.
(Barrier, Kelowna, and ours silver CR fires to name a couple)
