People like that really **** me off. Any beekeeper would have been more than happy to come and remove them without killing them. Way to compound the problems bees are already facing from CCD, pesticides, Varoa, Trachea mites, AFB, EFB, Nosema, SHB, and wax moths. EDIT I hope he and his family starve ... the rest of us are going to if bees keep getting wiped out at the rate they have been.
i had a colony over-night in one of my trees a couple of weeks ago. it was easy to find beekeepers who wanted new colonies. having to climb too high up trees usually breaks the deal, under bbq cover would have been simple.
I agree.... if you read everything the guy wrote, i believe he just thought it was a nest. The funny thing about yellow jackets and honey bees is that they sound the same when you cant see them!
