camera....action! what r your thoughts on underwater cameras? any experienced users, here?

good in clear water.. otherwise - completely useless and a waste of time and money.<br /><br />just my .02 tho

I have one and I only used it a couple of times. I'm thinking about putting it up on eBay. It is pretty neat what it looks like down on the bottom though.

they are great for ice fishing. in fact the last couple times we went this year the bite was so light if we did not have the camera to see them biting would probably have not caught to many. havnt used one fishing from boat so cant say how useful it will be. i dont have one myself but a couple friends onf mine do. i might get one for the ice next year.

What Barlow said.<br />If there is a stain, algae, weeds, muddy, low light conditions, etc, they don't show you much. Most have a small screen and use a wide angle lens, further reducing what you can see.<br /><br />Dad has used his twice. Now he uses it to hold the dust up off the closet floor.

I used mine now & i'm pretty impressed, very vivid images of the bottom, even @ 20 ft!
