lighting

I would like to add some type of lighting in our boat, just a simple 14' with an open bow. we want something similar to rope lights. any suggestions?​

Auto stores sell 12 volt rope lighting that is used to add "bling" to any part a vehicle. Red, green, blue, white are common available colors. Just make sure you have enough battery to run them for any length of time and still be able to start the engine when you need to. And just so you know, a five minute run back to the dock will not fully charge the battery so it may be necessary to charge the battery using shore power.

If you are going to install new lighting I highly recommend looking into LED lighting. It costs a little more up front but they last much longer, generate no heat and consume way less power as compared to normal filimant type bulbs.

Andy if you are going to be boating at night, and running with the lights on, you will suffer from night blindness, they make blue courtsey lights, that shine down ward, just enough to see where you are.

those are cool.

i probably wont run with them at night, but more likely than not anchored hanging with buddies and have the lights on. i will def look into those.

I got them from Cabelas, but they probably can be found at many sources, such as iboats.
