I've got a little 12 foot alum. boat with 6 hp engine on a light trailer that pulls easily with my Toyota RAV 4.

Wiring installed on towing vehicle as per instructions for single bulb tail lights won't work for turn sigs however; the RAV has seperate signal lights.

I've heard of an adapter that's necessary to accomodate this arrangement. Is it necessary or is there a way to wire it in directly so I can have turn signals too?

CHRIS

Re: lighting adapter

I'm not sure where you will find one but there is a solid state adaptor for vehicles that have seperate brake lites and turn indicators. It's a common issue. Do some internet searches, maybe even iboats or ebay.

Re: lighting adapter

I picked up an adapter (T-One Connector) for my 2002 Toyota Tacoma at the hitch shop where I bought my hitch (www.1800hitchit.com). Your Toyota dealer can probably order one for you. I even saw one at my local auto parts store (Pep Boys). Get the T-One Connector or equivalent, you don't have to splice any wires. Nice clean installation.

Re: lighting adapter

Just purchase some inexpensive clearance lights, and mount one in adition to the light already there, and wire one (on each side) to running lights (brown wire), and wire the yellow, too the other light on one side, and the green to the extra light on the other side. Very simple, and I have done it many times. :D :D :D :D
