I need so help. I can't seem to find a place to lift the motor by. Is there a special bracket that is used when pulling the motor off? Thanks for your help in advance.

they make a lifting eye that is bolts to the block, i'm surprized it does not have one. on small motors we use a flywheel puller sometimes. but i would not on a 200 hp.

Hey thanks for the reply. Any idea exactly where it mounts on the block? If I can find a safe spot I'm sure I can make do with chain...

Are you sure that you don't have lifting eyes cast into the motor? I don't know about your 200 hp motor, but my 94 175 has a lifting point on the top right cylinder and another just in front of the starter.

you can use a motor sling or 3- grade 8 bolts and a lifting eye bolted to the flywheel.

Not sure it'll help, but my '93 60hp 3cyl. has a lifting eye bolted to it between the flywheel and the t-stat area of the block/head. I noticed it while disassembling the engine yesterday. I hadn't noticed it before that, it's a bit hidden unless you happen to look right at it.

I'd say NO to lifting a 200 by the flywheel. Treat the flywheel like the $850 balanced ignition part that it is.

There is no lifting eye on the block of that motor. The correct way to lift the motor is with the lifting ring bolted to the flywheel. People get by with something homemade but the best eye is the one you get from a BRP dealer.
