Re: lifting an outbiard

Here's what I did.
Put boat on trailer
Positioned motor under LARGE tree limb
Put eyebolts in extra holes in each head (temp sender holes I think?)
Placed trailer tongue on the ground
Strapped motor via the eyes to tree limb.
Used floor jack under tongue and raised tongue until motor moved up 2 holes.
Wife, kids, and dog all watched while I raised 175 hp by myself.
Good luck

i borrow the neighbors engine hoist, a little safer than a tree limb.

I noticed a few bolts in the gil drive and two on the side do i just loosen the two on the gil drive and then take out the other two and then lift.

I've done it the pivot with trailer way.

I've also just put a block of wood on my floor jack and jacked it up on the skeg.

Never had any bad results either way.

Good-Luck,

KYHunter
