I need to replace the steering cable on our Bennington pontoon. Behind the flywheel I see what appears to be a lifting ring. I’m a little hesitant to lift it there without confirmation.
Can anyone here confirm? I did purchase a Mercury lifting ring/flywheel puller just in case, but the tread pattern, diameter doesn’t line up.

Lifting tool is for 2 stroke motors.----Does not work on your motor.

Doesn’t the large black threaded part fit into your flywheel / crankshaft ?

Then the threaded eye screws into it.

That bolt is used the remove the flywheel, not to lift the motor.
