I am in the process of a fairly extensive rebuild on our 1990 Beachcraft. It has a 5.7 OMC Cobra. I am replcacing the outdrive with a SEI Cobra conversion. I have replaced exhaust manifolds and risers, belts, some hoses and all the basic tune up and maintenance items. The boat is 22 years old and in good shape, but I am wondering what the life cycle is for the water pump, starter and fuel pump. They are all working just fine right now, but from a preventative maintenance perspective, do any of you replace these items as a precaution from time to time?

Thank you in advance,
Greg

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard,...

The impeller raw water pump needs service every year or 2....
The circulating water pump will last darn near forever, or til it's seal leaks,... Then replace it...
Starters, 'n fuel pumps last as long as they're Workin', 'n get replaced when they Don't...

Agree with the above, my 24 year old OMC still has the OE fuel pump, the water pump lasted 22 years (even 10 years in salt) and the starter, I have replaced 1x. Keep the starters dry (watch out for manifold drain leaks) and they too will last. I also still have the OE alternator.
