Winter, spring, summer fall!!

And to add Hunting and Tourist, the other seasons. I like hunting season, tourist season- not to much.
After another 15 hour flash trip to look and quote on 4 jobs, it was looking like I really wanted to put a dozen tourist in the freezer, just cause!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH

Lets take for example, I take the back roads when I can so I do not have to deal with the traffic, so when I come around this corner and there is a half dozen cars backed up behind this little sh@t box of a wind up car doing 20 in a 55 with this women hanging out her window trying to take a picture of 6 deer, the telephoto lens must have been 3 feet long.
People, just because your on vacation does not mean the rest of the world comes to a grinding halt!!!

Walked into a bar in Hudson ,Fla a couple of years ago and one of the locals said something about Damn Michiganders. I asked what made him think we were from Mi he said it had to be somewhere cold we were wearing shorts and tshirts and they were all wearing jeans, long sleeves and jackets so he took a shot. lol We ended up having a great time. lol

You all are lucky you don't live in Wine Country! The road to the closest fishing hole runs right through about a dozen friggin winery's and it's also a favorite bicycle route. Going up at 4:30am isn't bad but comming back and dealing with "I just had one glass" drivers and bicyclists that are so intelligent that they think they have the right of way is a real challenge. Believe it or not, they tried to pass a law out here that allowed drivers to cross the double yellow line when passing tourists and bicyclists. Thank god the CHP stepped in and slammed the door on that!

They also come up here and think they own the place and all the roads. They appear to act like they're in the middle of the park in a big city. You drive down the road and you see walkers stretched across the road. Do they move over, some, but alot, nooooooo......... I end up stopping at times to wait for oncoming traffic. Sure shootin' it would be my fault if I "brushed" one. In a mile stretch close to my house one day, I was dodging walkers and bicyclists. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with bicyclists, my whole family rides, even in competition. But when a car comes, MOVE OVER. It's always great when you come upon people on a hill too......

Coupla winters ago my step father was taking a load of garbage to the dump in his Ford Exploder. He crested a rise and on the other side was a party of five folks walking along the country road side by side. Right in the middle a few hundred feet in front of him. Completely surprised, he jumped on the binders a touch too hard, swerved, flipped and began rolling - still relatively straight ahead toward the unsuspecting strollers, who were facing the other way.

Eventually, the sound of breaking glass, crunching metal, ejecting garbage cans and recycling caught their attention and they turned around. My SF said the vehicle finally came to rest practically front of them upside down where he sat there, hanging in his seat belt.

He said the look of complete stupified surprise frozen on all their faces was worth the crash. Specially when he unbelted, tried the door (which was jammed), kicked out the remains of the windshield, crawled out, stood up and brushed himself off and said, "I hate it when that happens..."

He's certainly the master of the understatement...

I'm not sure I've ever seen so many bicycles on the road until I moved to Vermont, which is pain in the @$$ enough (especially when they ride down the middle of the lane, when 10 feet past the shoulder IS A BIKE PATH FOLLOWING THE SAME ROUTE), but then you add the leaf peepers in the fall coming from all over, and, well, explain to me again why we can't shoot them?

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr The State just repaved my road from West Rutland to Castleton and the bicycle traffic has gone from a few to the hundreds

I would love a tourist season....... I wonder if a 9' snow plow would be a good weapon!

Yea, didn't bag any today. Had a couple of small herds pass in front of my stand at different times, but I was holding out for the big one, which just didn't materialize so far. If that trophy doesn't pass by soon I am just gonna bag a couple of smaller buck to fill the freezer and call it a season ...

Guys and Gals,
Frustrating it may be but that is the price you pay for living in a beautiful area that people want to visit.
Take it as a compliment that you get tourists.
A lot of local income generated there as well !!! and remember, there are times when you are a tourist as well !!!
