can somebody measure thier dipstick on a 4.3 for me please? i have a 96 4.3lx merc, and when i changed the motor, the dipstick was broken off right at the full mark. looking to get another made( just going to cut an auto and drill holes for add and full), but how long is it supposed to be? mine works, but i like to know that i still have some oil left in the engine between changes. as soon as it,s down 1/16, it stops reading. due to being "shortened"
