Your engine,as you know, is a 350 Mag MPI, the rpm range is 4600-5000 rpm
Drive is a Bravo 2 with a 2.20:1 gear ratio.

It's from a Merc dealers program, it's not online.

Re: leg #'s

Merc's web site has it as 5200 so I guess what I'm really asking is 2007/2008 4600/5000 or 4800/5200 as per the web site this is a new unit to me and I dont want to damage it but I by over reving or to much load killing my cruise mpg. I have a 24 foot zeta (exspess/cruise/fish) 4500lbs 55gallons fuel 24 degree dead rise. Every thing I have gathered (mostly from Don S) and the prop finder @ the merc site says a 25p prop. I have also read that the prop finder over pitches most of the time and so Im going to try a 23p three blade and maybe look into a 23 four blade as my finall purchase.
PS I'm also aware that the rev limiter is or should be + 200 rpm over max wot

I'm not completely positive about this, But I believe it has something to do with the newer emissions standards for the engines.

You are correct, They did raise the WOT on this engine to 4800?5200 and they also lowered the idle RPM's down to 550 rpm on most of the newer MPI engines.
RPM WOT 4800?5200
Rev limiter 5350
Idle in neutral 550

Merc's web site has it as 5200 so I guess what I'm really asking is 2007/2008 4600/5000 or 4800/5200 as per the web site this is a new unit to me and I dont want to damage it. but will I be over reving.? PS I'm also aware that the rev limiter is or should be + 200 rpm over max wot
Since you have a rev limiter you will not be able to over rev the engine. The limiter will stop you at 5350 RPM and when you hit the rev limiter it will sound and feel pretty much like a engine misfire.

Try to find a prop that will put in the 5150 area at WOT while trimmed out, You should be good there.

If your not getting close to your top rpm range right now then you should check to see if your getting full wide open throttle at the throttle body due to a misadjusted throttle cable.;)

I see your engine is a 350 MPI bravo sea core with a bravo 2 sea core drive? Nice setup you have there.:)

Thanks Im going to pick it up tomorrow at horse shoe bay and run it over to vancouver island. We found a 21p four blade ss and the boat was sea trialed this after noon and as I thought it is not enough prop you can bounce it off the rev limiter with three big guys and a full tank of fuel so I will have to see if I can repitch it to 23p

Re: leg #'s

OK so some more news I picked the baot up and it ran great, but as stated you can the rev limiter @ 5150???@ 46 mph gps. This is 200 rpm below all the specs I could find didnt give it much thought at the time. Went fishing two evenings and all was good. Tried to go fishing a thrid time and it died completly 100 yards out we thought it was a fuel issue but nope I have a raycor as well as the merc set up everything came up clean when we checked the gas after the filter change. So off to the shop it goes and they're looking into it now. But I was looking at the stickers on the side of the arrester cover and it also says wot @ 5200 . On an older scan tool one code was that it had hit the rev limilter @ 5150 this is getting me thinking that the ecu has been changed out for some reason in the past and if it is an older 4600 - 5000 wot unit would it also be making less power due to the wrong fuel map? How much is a new ecu or can it be reprogramed? Is there a way to tell if it is the original ecu for this engine? The other thing that points to a swap is the ecu engine hours says 1400. This motor was installed in feb 08 and was in a weekend cabin boat before mine it was also out of the other boat for a year before being installed in mine and in a crate. The estimated hours where 350 to 400 as no scan tool was availible at the time. Would the hours from a different motor carry over in the ecu if it was swapped into another motor? The engine serial number 1A075822. The drive serial number 0W900649 also 4-44C06MU S 350 MPI BRAVO SEA any answers or info would be great thanks

Re: leg #'s

You would be a lot better off if you start a new thread in the Mercruiser repair forum. Not many going to find your engine problem at the bottom of a thread titled leg #'s.
