And I thought it was bad enough with snakes, alligators, bears, coyotes, etc, etc.
Now you've got fish jumping up, knocking your teeth out! You Americans certainly do everything bigger over there!
Ross

There has been a couple of posts on the other fourm i'm on about it.

The guys on that fourm are from that area and one of them has been hit himself......so far (according to him) there have been four accidents so far this year....its the opinion of the other fourm that it's got something to do with breeding and courtship..... ;)

I think that they are kamakazie sturgeons and we as warrior fisshing monks are under attack.

Gulf sturgeon are endangered....could this be the "revenge of the sturgeon"

Derwood.

Derwood, just think of a 5-6' long 130 lb Sturgeon leaping into the "Shade Tree Special" It would be a close re-make of Old Man and the Sea!

I just wonder how you explain it to the insurance companies.

Bob

I don't want no prehistoric critter doing a swan dive into my boat.....That would be all she wrote for the shady.

Heck....if a deer fly lands on the bow she starts to creek and moan.

That will soon be over though.....I've got 75% of the bolts and nuts and washers that i need to reserect her from the dead....At the moment she is more of a submarine than a boat....not realy...but i have to start bailling within 10 minutes of putting her in the water and every 10 minutes thereafter.....if i don't keep it up the gas tank starts to float.

It is a camoflaged boat....I dont think anyone would notice if i mounted a couple of twin 30 mm anti sturgeon guns on her bow.

As far as insurence goes....as soon as the insurence man saw the budwiser beer can patch on her he would be outa there like a cat shot in the a$$.....Besides ...Its the shade tree speical...It does'nt need an insurence man... it needs an exorsist.

Derwood.

Not to mention that when fish jump into the boat on a day when you can't catch anything, it gets bloody embarrasing explaining it to your wife.....
Ross

A 130 lb. sturgeon jumping in your boat is nothing! You ought to see a 10 foot 1000 pound pissed off mako shark jump in your boat. I had 2 jump in my 20 foot boat. One landed in the stern, half in the water half in the boat and nearly put the stern under. The second was cut free of the line after a blue shark bit through the line and the mako thinking it was still hooked I imagine proceeded to jump at me standing in the stern and reeling in the rod and the mako actually rubbed against me. I assume he was looking for lunch but missed me by a foot or so. I was fishing with my brother in law and he will no longer fish offshore with me. People say the Great White is the baddest fish in the ocean I think the mako is just a bit more ferocious as I have met them both.
