So I am trying to track leaks down and I just figured out what I thought was the hatch was actually the grab rail. I see the one piece grab rail has 3 bolts attaching it to the deck. Do I just remove it, put a lot of silicon caulk in it, then bolt it back on? I have heard/read a lot of people saying stay away from 5200 lately.

5200 is great below the water line when you are not going to want to ever remove your work. Are the screws loose? If they are holding tight back them out and coat with 4200 before tightening back down.

No screws, just bolts it didn't seem lose at all when I have grabbed it before. Just noticed water leaking from it.

3m 4000 is basically the same thing as 4200 from what I understand. but with more UV things in there :) ..

NO silicone... remove the rail completely.... clean up the mounting areas... re-seal the holes with 4200 and replace.
Hold bolts still and tighten nuts.

Should I have to worry about drying anything out?

Yes .. best bet is to make sure its Dry and Clean.

As I suggested before .. if you can get the 4000 then use that instead of 4200.
