Leaks-water in bilge

Hello,
We are new owners of a freshly painted, cared for 1997, 19' CC w/130 Johnson. The boat is bottom coated and sits dockside.
The bilge is collecting water (not rain) at the rate of about 1 1/2 gallons/24 hours. I tightened the hose clamp on the through hull fitting at teh transom of the tube that runs forward along the keel to the tub of the casting deck area. There is no structural damage to the hull/boat.
Has anyone seen this drain tube chaffe through over time from normal wear and tear? According to the factory, there is no real detailed information (archives) and suggests the above theory. I'd rather not have to separate the liner from the hull to do this.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Eric

Re: Leaks-water in bilge

SeaPro has a 10 year transferable warranty on their hull...Have dealer take a look. Did you try corking the bow reservoir drain tube at the transom and pulling the plug on the reservoir...maybe add some food coloring to the water? This might show you if water is leaking. I am assuming you have replaced the drain plug. Have you checked the livewell drain exit...I know on mine it does not drain into the bilge and has a direct line to the outside.

Re: Leaks-water in bilge

I think the 1997 only had a 7 year hull guarentee. I bought a used 1997 23.5 WA in 2004 from a private individual. The dealer said to bring it by and they would check the hull for any warentee covered repares before my warrentee ran out.

I thought that was great! Dealer is O'Neal's in St Pete, FL

Good luck.

I had trouble once with the hose becoming disconected from the anchor locker, I had to plug the lower hole in the transom because I couldn,t get to the hose to fix it.
