Leaking hose

So I finally replaced the shift shaft on my 1990 Yamaha 200. Everything is going great until I notice one of the hoses for my Seastar steering is leaking thru the worn part of the hose. I know the best bet is to replace the hoses. However is there a way I can make a repair to get me thru the next month or so. It’s only the last foot of the hose. The black coating is worn off and you can see the woven material under it. The oil is seeping thru that. I was wondering if I can cut the bad part off and somehow reconnect the brass fitting. I’ll upload a picture.

Yeah I found that after. I went ahead and ordered new hoses and Seastar fluid. Better be safe than sorry. Thanks

It may be the photo, but the hose looks like too much is looped in the splashswell.
