I have an older Volvo 280 ,260 and I recently pulled the engine to replace the int bearings but now have a water intrusion problem The upper bellows is not leaking I didnt change the big round seals on the engine because they looked fine so im thinking of replacing the outer if I can get it back off
Were do the volvo legs tend to leak
The water comes in more when we run on the step
Any ideas would be a great time saver

Re: leak in transom Volvo 280

How is the transom? Could be by r&r the engine a weak or rotten transom was deformed and is leaking around the transom shield. Something you may want to check especially if it is an older boat. Search in the boatbuilding and restoration forum, there are a number of threads on this there.
If it is the big O seals you would have water coming in between the bellhousing and the transom shield where the O-rings are.
