Leader Line

Ok, let my explain the question, I always use a leader after the swivel. I currently am useing 15lb. test. This reel is used for trolling only with rapala. Now my question is: should my leader line be of greater test then what i am useing(15lb) or lighter test ? and why?

Maybe i am putting to much thought into this, will get a life someday ........................

What are you fishing for, poco? In what waters?

poco, I always use the same or less strength leaders than my main line for the simple reason that if I break off, it won't be my main line and I don't loose all the tackle on it.
So if your using 15# test leader, I would want 15# or more main line. That is the way I do it anyway.

How big trout are you fishing for must be monsters here we will troll with six # to catch 4 to 8#er`s.

I dont think i could trust 6lb line, not that the fish on average are that big, but im not after the average.
