I am taking my boat to do some needed maintenance from my mom and pop mechanic. I want him to replace all the bellows and the impeller. Is there any other things I should ask him to do while he has everything taken apart?
I am also going to ask him to look into the 6"+ play in the steering, Float switch for bilge, and trim limiter.
He told me he was charging people less do to the work now since he hates being flooded by all the boaters that want their work done last minute. I like to haggle and find a good deal, but this guy usually quotes me so little I usually pay him extra just because I feel bad. I was thinking maybe offering him $350 for labor for the bellow kit and the impeller. Also a little extra for the other things. He isn't a certified tech, but he works on boats a lot and the previous owner of the boat use to take it to this guy.
I am planning on buying these and having him install it, is everything correct?

He also mentioned that you normally replace the shift cable with the bellow.
