Latest Activity Button

What is it supposed to do? When clicked it lists only the latest started threads. In other words, only those threads started after the upgrade. Also it gives no way to go to the last post in the thread. Only the thread starter is listed and number of views and posts to the thread. If you click on a thread, it goes to the beginning, post #1. Some of the old active threads are 40-50 pages long, especially some of the restoration/rebuild threads.

Try New Topics button up top. Seems like the best for what it is that we really want from Latest Activity. I guess we have to learn new meanings for old words.... :facepalm:

I have no "New Topics" button on top. Only the "Latest Topics" on the right. Clicking "View All" under "Latest Topics" is the same as "Latest Activity"

I started a test post in the Starcraft Manufacturer section. It shows up under "Latest Activity", but other new posts to old threads started pre-upgrade in the same section don't show until you go to the Starcraft section. I haven't found an equivalent to the old "New Posts" button. Forum navigation is difficult, to say the least.

No, I get latest posts for all sections. You don't see the post times on the right column?

BTW, to answer your original question, I am not sure what the Latest Activity thing is. I've been trying to figure it out on our test site and I wasn't getting anywhere :noidea:

I think I've got the latest activity thing figured out it will show latest post in either thread, section, or whole forum depending on where you are. What I don't like is it shows the post; I want to just review threads with activity like the old 'whats new' button.

I agree...... I am sure we can all get used to the new look/layout, but it sure would be nice if we could get the my subscribed and today's posts shortcuts back...

Those are the two shortcuts I used the most.

subscribed - click the 'forum' button that takes you to the listings of all forums, then next to the 'latest activity' there is 'my subscription'. I never could figure it out on the old one.

It took me a while to find my 'most used' feature: the 'Go To First New Post' in a thread button. It's just to the right of the thread's title when viewing all the threads in a forum. Looks like two down arrows inside a solid blue circle.

I know from the "Home" page, "Latest Activity" shows all the new threads started today, yesterday etc.

"New Topics" shows all the latest posts no matter when the thread was started. It is the old "Today's Posts"(I believe that's what it was called), where you could tell if someone posted to an old thread...

Well I'm stunned I'm the first to bring up the "What browser are you using?" point. It will help if everyone can include what browser they are using when the can or can not find something that others can. Mods I might make this bit of advice a temporary sticky, it will make a big difference in troubleshooting.

I'm using chrome from a desktop right now and I do not have new topics under the forums tab.
