Last model year for suzuki 2-strokes

After much research and reading and such... I made up my mind on either the Merc 4-stroke EFI 30 or the Honda BF30.<br /><br />When came time to buy, I found them a little expensive and to make things worse, a mechanic told me to wait for the new technology 2-stroke EFI. (Don't start a string on 2-stroke vs 4 stroke, I've read them ALL!) I'm just giving you back ground...<br /><br />So I decided to wait and buy a (apparently brand new) 30-hp 2-stroke suzuki 2002. It's half the price and will last me a few years until I can better decide on the next engine. Another dealer told me Suzuki didn't make 2-strokes in 2002, they stopped making them in 2001! <br /><br />Does anyone know the last year of 2-stroke for Suzuki and whether or not they are reputable?

Howdy, PCET.<br /><br />Now you know why it is half price. It is probably a new engine built before 2002. If the warranty is good, it doesn't matter.<br /><br />Heck of a deal.<br /><br />Suzuki was a little vague about the timing of discontinuance of building 2 strokes. What they said was close to, "As we fill out our line of 4 stroke engines we will discontinue building 2 strokes."<br /><br />Take it and run.
