It was just too pretty of a day yesterday to not go and try for the last fish of the year. The high was 65* with light winds.
Got out to the fishin hole about 9:00 am and there was already a boat there, but he was anchored and casting to a marker buoy. Had a little chat with him and he said it was slow but he was catching some small keepers.
I setup 4 rods with the 1/16 oz. jigs and started trolling my usual route being careful not to get in the other guys way. It was indeed slow but I started catching a few fish.
Around noon the water started warming up from 50* to 52* and the fish started biting better. I caught Crappie, Spotted Bass, and a couple little Stripers.
I ended the day about 4 pm with 23 keepers, 6 were between 12-14"
A good way to say good bye to 2011.
