Yep, to quote a song: "God Blessed Texas" Have you been out there? I have been wanting to take dad and my boat to Atchafalaya. Just driving over it I can smell the fish

Well, you're in luck, cause the lakes up here are nothing compared to lake you described. Bear, Hurricane et.al., they are small and fished mostly by the folks that live out there. It would be nice if we had something like Okeechobee up here, but at least we have the bays, the sound and the gulf.<br /><br />I hear that Jim's Fish Camp on Hwy 90 is good place to put in because they help people who don't know lower Escambia River get on the species of fish they want. You can fish for everything from Specs and Reds to Strippers to bream, all in the same day
