Looking to go someplace new for this memorial day weekend.
Usually goto Ohio river or lake Cumberland.
Does anyone have info on this lake? Do they allow overnight on water?
Coming from north of Cincinnati and south of Dayton. What would be the closest ramp and marina?
Thanks

I live an hour from Monroe, I think the Lake has a better personality than Brookville, it is pretty high right now, Paynetown is normally the prefered camp and launch site may still be to high Iam going to try tolaunch there tomorrow (SUN) let you know later. Inn of The Four Winds only marina , its ok , rooms are pretty dated is under going a big remodel right now

Thanks for the response. Hope you get to enjoy time on the water. I look foreword to your input on lake condition. We are looking for an alternative to the river.
It's to high now to enjoy.
Could you tell me which ramp would workbest and any fees? And where/ how to get.
Thank you

Re: Lake Monroe ? Should we try it?

We love Monroe, it's our home lake. It always feels large and open. Plus there are plenty of areas to anchor and relax or find the "party" area near Allen's Creek. We've never had a bad day out there. That being said, everything I've seen says to stay away right now and we've not been down this season. Last update I saw from DNR still says lots of closed ramps with floating debris on the lake.

We used to always put in at Paynetown which is definitely the main ramp. Last season we moved across the bridge to Cutright SRA. Easier docks to work with and my wife is a lot happier with the process. Not sure if the docks have even made it in yet though....
