lake michigan fishing

hello fellow fishermen....i troll lake michigan for trout and salmon....i use downriggers, lead core, planer boards, dipsey divers etc and have good success....i have heard of guys running wire dipseys on roller rods....i have no idea what this set-up is...i have seen roller rods at local bait shop, but dont know what type of reel to use, or what type of wire??? is this just downrigger cable on a reel or what?

Scott, Gander Mountain sells them here already rigged w/ reel and wire..Sorry I didn't look close at what brand of reel. The wire is very thin (same size aprox. to fire line) set up sells for about 200 + bucks. I've looked at them for use with dipsy divers, however I plan to stick with my fire line..But if you want to try something new and are willing to spend the $$$??? <br /><br />Best of Luck this summer!
