I am looking to buy Maps of lakes that I am going to be fishing, I have searched and found some but is there a CD or online place I can get topo maps and fishing Hot spots? What do you use? There is nothing worse than have bad days on good lakes cause you don't know where to fish. Thanks

Matt

Re: Lake Maps

Check your local Walmart in the fishing section..I found a complete atlas with all lakes in Ohio..gives depths ,structures, and lakes in your state. Do a search on Lakes in your state and it will lead you to what lake your wanting to see...

Re: Lake Maps

Just use your basic search engine (yahoo, google, etc.) to find plenty of these. I got one on cd for the land that i hunt.

You can start with this one.

This may or may not be what you want.

Re: Lake Maps

Minnesota has a dnr website that gives topo maps, fishing surveys, water clarity and gill net reports. Everything is free. Might type in your state then dnr and see if you have one. Then find lake by lake name and county.

Good luck

Re: Lake Maps

OK guys I did the searches and came up with tons of expensive CD's and online stuff, than I took the posters advice to go to wal-mart. I found what I was looking for and thought I would share it with you guys. here is the link from the book that I found. It covers alot of the lakes I plan on fishing and they make them for other states. The online page says its $21.95 I paid $19.96 at Wal-mart tonight. Thanks for the suggestions. Led me to where I wanted to be.

http://www.sportsmansconnection.com/
Matt

Re: Lake Maps

Go online and try terraserver.com. You can get a topo (displays creek channels) and an aerial photo.

Re: Lake Maps

check your local DNR webpage....

My DNR has maps for all the inland lakes in michigan, plus tips on fishing hot spots, and tons of other useful information for download.

You can also try terraserver, which i do from time to time to see where the original riverbed is in some of the dammed up lakes around here with their topo maps.
