I have a 120HP L-Drive that I have had for almost 10 Years. It has worked great. My only problem is I want more power. How can I get better performance out of this motor? Did they ever make the 150HP that they were going to? If so can you get them anywhere? Any performance tips appreciated.
Thanks!

Sorry,

it is a 19' cuddy with the Force L-Drive 120. I have a steel 13 3/4 X 15 prop.
I would like to pull skiers more but I have kind of limited it to wakeboards due to the lack of performance. The top speed is about 35MPH. our altitude is around 5,000.

Can you bore out these types of engines and add some HP?

you have the same prop i have ,thats the only one you can use to pull skiers ,if go to a 17 pitch your top speed would go up a little but you won,t be able to pull up anyone ,i,ve tryed,i,m going to try a steel prop, they say at will help.i have a 1990 l-drive 120 force on a 20ft. maxum top speed is 38 rpm,s 5300 rpm.when i went to a 17" top speed was still the same but the rpm,s drop to about 4500, and out of the hole it was a dog ,tonite we had 4 adults and 4 kids in the boat and still got 38mph out of it.well good luck

If you search back 6-8 weeks there was a lot said about altitude and the enlarging of the jets. The User had a folding boat, less than
8 hp,and was at 5000'.

------------------
