L Drive Or Not???

I just bought a 1990 23' pontoon with a 1990 Force 90 HP 2 stroke outboard. I need a new prop for it, but all the sites want to know if it's an "L Drive" motor. I don't know what this is. What's the difference? How do you tell? All the motor says is Force 90 HP Crossfire Fuel Induction and a little sticker saying to mix the oil 50:1. Someone help a newbie please?

Welcome Tiger.

If it looks like a traditional outboard, it is not an L drive.

If it looks like a weird inboard, then it may be an L drive.
I have never seen an L drive on a pontoon.

Look for an id tag on the transom mounting bracket.
Should list manufacture date, hp, and model number.

Thank you very much... mine would definitely be a regular outboard then.

Put a new water pump impeller in there too, as you don't know the last time it was replaced, ran through sand, or ran without water.

Good luck, happy boating.
