I just spoke with Etrailer about Kodiak brakes and was told that the Dacromet brake kits are being discontinued. There is a toxic chemical used in the manufacturing process that the FDA has recently banned. They have a new waterborne replacement that will be coming out soon. They are allowed to sell the rest of their inventory, but will not be able to manufacture any more Dacromet systems.

Thought I'd Share....

Weird. Dacromet is already a waterbased coating and they switched to it in 2011.

They are still shown as available on their website.

I am not all familiar with the product.
It may be water based, but a very quick look at the specs shows it contains Chromium-6!
Think Erin Brockovich!
