1994 Evinrude 4 (4RER) I just purchased this motor to use on an inflatable dinghy. It has a simple push-button kill-switch that I would like to replace with the newer lanyard type. I boat alone and want to add this feature in case I should I ever fall out. The 1998 model offers it and it looks like a straightforward swap. 3 wires. One black wire ring terminal. One black wire pin. One black/yellow stripe pin. These last two nest into a 6-socket connector that plugs into the ignition module. I'm guessing that these are "amphenol" connectors. First question, is this swap feasible ? Second, must I purchase specialized tools to remove/reinstall amphenols into the connector ? I doubt that I'll ever need them again.
