KICKER MOUNTING PLATE - 8hp honda tiller

I want to mount an 8HP kicker/trolling motor on the back of the boat. Boat is an 18 1/2 foot smoker craft Magnum with an Evinrude 120 on the back. If I mount the motor on the transom I can end up swamping it with even minor swells. So I need something that will allow me to raise it a little and still be able to reach the water. What should I be looking for in a bracket set-up?<br />Cheers <br />Mike

I have a 16' Smokercraft Osprey with a Honda 8hp kicker mounted on the transom.<br /><br />I have never had a problem with waves coming over the transom. I fish saltwater all over Puget Sound and the Strait of Juan de Fuca for salmon.
