The transom only has a backer where the outboard is mounted. There is no good way to add a backer that I can see without cutting the deck or bait tank out and then repairing that too. Would there be any issues with bolting a custom mount to the transom right beside the 120 outboard before the wood transom turns into just glass, and having an arm on a custom mount hold the kicker a foot offset to the side. I only plan on a 2-5hp kicker for trolling, and it could be taken off while on the trailer.
