In searching there is alot of info. on the right length shaft and how to figure it out. I know for my kicker a 20" shaft would work great. But I feel when using the main engine the kicker might still touch the water in the elevated position somewhat. Also while trailering I would need another transom saver.
So my question is if I mount a 15" shaft the prop sits just under the boat with the cavatation plate behind the transom. It will be probably a 6hp. so not intended to get the boat on plane, just troll. Anyone have a set up like this? I know I could get a bracket to lower it but if it works on the transom the tiller reach is better. Its a v bottom boat so the transom on the side is around 18" .

Re: kicker engine shaft length

and when you run fast, the drag, and spray will come up into the boat. get the proper mount.
