I am installing a Honda 9.9 with electric start on my Four Winns. The Honda has a 12 amp alternator that charges back thru the starting cables. I am planning on mounting these to my main boat battery. Is there a concern about doing this ? I thought it would be great, as when I troll, I use a lot of accessories, fish finder, radio, charger for phones ect. I don't want to damage the Volvo's or Honda's alternators. Dave R

No problems at all, that's how the system's designed to operate. Due to the diodes in each of the alternators there's no chance of one harming the other. You can even run both engines simultaneously... the one with the lower voltage regulator cut-off will just not be charging until the other engine is shut off. The difference will only be a few tenths of a volt...

Thanks Chris: I can't wait to set it up and take it out for a test run. The ice is just starting to come off the lakes around here. Dave-R
