They may need trained boat trailer parkers at the boat ramps on July 1st instead of in Sparta after last year's cup race. Only been to Louisville, Sparta and Frankfurt so not sure where Kentucky Lake or Lake Bartlett are located.

I usually make it to Kentucky Lake a couple times per year. My boating is almost always north of the Eggner Ferry Bridge (the one hit by the ship last fall). If I'm staying at the lake, it's usually at Moor's Resort. Sometimes Hester's.

Hi Four Winds, I was wondering if there is any particular reason for staying above the bridge. I'll be staying south of Eggner and I don't know the area very well.
Thanx!

I stay north of the bridge because when I arrive in the area, I'm on the north end of the lake and launch in that part of the lake. The water south of Eggner Ferry bridge is somewhat more shallow in certain areas than farther north, especially since the water level is about 1.5 feet lower than normal summer pool because of the drought. Invest in a good fishing map of the lake and you will be able to see what areas have shallow water. If you decide to venture north of the bridge, Duncan Bay (LBL side of the lake) is a nice place to hang out. The party cove (if you're into that) is at the old rock quarry on the north side of the mouth of Pisgah Bay. Just follow the crowd.

Thanks for the information. Do they sell maps there locally?

Fishing maps of Kentucky Lake are sold all over the place. I'll bet any Wal-Mart within 100 miles of Kentucky Lake will have fishing maps of the lake in the Sporting Goods department. If you venture north of the bridge, The Moors Resort has a very good restaurant as well as a nice marina. Have a safe trip!
