Kenmore Dishwasher

Anyone have knowledge of diswasher repair? I have a Kenmore and I am almost 100% that it is leaking from the "Gate Shaft Seal". <br /><br />How do I remove the old one and replace it?<br /><br />Thanks in advance

Thanks for the prompt response Ken. I will order it but first wanted to know how do I get the old one off and the new one in. I tried pulling on it (it looks like a small washer) but it won't come off.<br /><br />anyone?

Thanks all that responded. <br /><br />For future refrence; it was the shaft seal around the selonoid operated drain valve that was leaking. Everything I read told me that I should replace the pump/motor but when I found the seal for 13.00 I couldn't resist trying. The seal was difficult to replace and I ended up purchasing the pump motor for $135.000 from repairclinic.com (thanks oddjob). Sear wanted 178.00 for a new dishwasher (oh yea...they wanted 175.00 for a new pump/motor)but since the house is being sold next month I opted to save the difference.
