my brother just purchased a 94 seadoo xp. he had the carbs rebuilt , and when you try to start it, it pulls like it is in gear.also after it does finally start, and you pull up to dock it never quits pulling, always seems like it is in gear?....is there some kind of adjustment or something so it will coast when not on the throttle?

Re: keeps pulling

I'm not that familiar with the 94 Seadoo but I had a 96 XP. But on mine there was not any way of taking it out of gear. When the motor is running it is directly connected to the prop. So you are correct. It it is running it is pulling. Unless there is a lever to put it in neutral and reverse then it is always "in gear"

Re: keeps pulling

If it is running too quickly you can adjust the idle speed on it so it doesn't take off on you. I usually keep mine at about 1500 RPM's in the water.
