I was wondering if others keep a bit of food on board their boats, I keep a can or two of spam and my DIL got me a pack of Datrex rations after running across my spam hoard. I have kept spam, potted meat, crackers and a few other things for years, nothing like a hunk of fried spam at 3 am on a cat fishing trip. I have kept a small amount around ever since I was stranded once over night is a nasty fog and was forced to anchor and wait for it to lift. It has came in handy several times. The Datrex rations are new to me. She got me two packages of these and with a 5 year shelf life I am sure they will get used

I have three bottles of rum and some crackers. I will leave an MRE or two extra on the boat the next time I stock up on them. I don't really like leaving food on the boat unless it is well sealed. I don't want to deal with bug issues while at anchor.

I don't stock anything except water, my boat is trailered, we only do day trips. Critters would eventually find the food and make a big mess.

Lots of Diet Coke, 2 cans of SPAM, 4 - 8 packs of peanut butter crackers. All in a tightly sealed ammo box. Rotated every May. Same with the ammo.

I think I might not be the target audience for this posting, tho...:D
